Driving Directions

From North:
Take the Kennedy Expressway. (I-90/94) and exit at 18th St.
Turn left (east) to Canal St., then right (south) to Cermak Rd.
The Chinatown Gate is just a few blocks ahead and to the right (east).

From South:
Take the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94) to 22nd St. exit.
The Chinatown Gate is just to the left (west).
From the southwest:
Take the Stevenson (I-55) to Cermak Rd. exit.
The Chinatown gate is just to the left (west).

From West:
Take the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) to I-90/94.
East to 18th St. and turn left (east) to Canal St., then right (south) to Cermak Rd.
The Chinatown Gate is just a few blocks ahead and to the right (east).

From the East:
Take Lake Shore Drive to I-55 south, exiting at State St.
left (south) on State,
right (west) on 26th,
right (north) on Wentworth.

Parking

During the week you should have no problem finding street parking, but it can be more difficult on weekends. Fortunately there are two parking lots in Chinatown.

Chinatown Parking is located kitty-corner from the Chinatown gate, across the street from Three Happiness Restaurant (2130 S. Wentworth Ave.). With validation from participating restaurants on your parking ticket, it�s $2.00 for 3 hours.

There's also a parking lot operated by Hunter Parking on Wentworth Ave. and 24th St, next to the Pacific Global Bank. While no validation is available for this lot, it is relatively inexpensive.

Public transportion

Take the El, it's an excellent alternative to driving. The Red Line stops right here. Get off at Cermak-Chinatown, which is the stop between Roosevelt and 31st/Comiskey Park. The Red Line runs between Howard and 95th St. 24 hours a day. Facing west, you'll be able to get a good view of Chinatown from the platform. On alighting from the El, exit the platform, go down the stairs and make a right.

Taxis

It's about $10 by taxi to and from downtown. On your return trip, our member restaurants can call you a cab.

Chicago Water Taxi

From Michigan, Madison to Chinatown

Take the Chicago Water Taxi on weekends to Chinatown. You can get on the boat from Michigan Ave at the base of WrigleyBuilding, Madison Street at Ogilvie Transportation Center and stop at the Ping Tom Park, which is nearby the Chinatown Square. It's an alternative way to explore Chinatown on the Chicago River.
